Kate Cassidy, who had been in a relationship with One Direction’s Liam Payne since 2022, posted a heartfelt tribute to him after his passing on October 16 at the age of 31.

"Thank you for all the kind words and love sent my way," she wrote in an October 18 Instagram Stories post. "I am at a complete loss. The last few days have not felt real. Please grant me the grace and privacy I need to get through this."

She lovingly referred to Liam as her "angel" and expressed her deep affection for him.

"You were everything to me," she said. "I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and fully. I will love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam."

Kate and Liam had been on vacation in Argentina for two weeks leading up to his passing, though they had originally planned to stay only for five days. She returned to Florida on October 12, explaining in a TikTok post that she felt a "need" to go home, while Liam stayed behind.

"I was so ready to leave," Kate said in an October 14 TikTok video. "I love South America, but I hate staying in one place too long." She also captioned the post with, "soooo happpiii to b back in sunshine state."

During their trip, the couple attended concerts, went bowling, and sampled local cuisine, including Argentine Chinese food and Wagyu steak. Kate’s TikTok vlogs also showed them enjoying familiar favorites like McDonald's, Oreos, and Skittles.

"I'm grateful for the simple things in life," she shared in one of her posts. Before his passing, Liam had also taken to Snapchat to express his joy, saying he was enjoying a "lovely day in Argentina."

Liam Payne was discovered dead on Wednesday after a fall from a third-floor balcony at a hotel located in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While the exact details of the singer's death are still being investigated, a preliminary autopsy report released on Thursday confirmed that he died from multiple traumatic injuries, including both internal and external bleeding.
